Access means that persons with disabilities can both access and effectively use a building, program, service, and/or activity.Â Accommodations are a part of access. They are the specific services, equipment, policy and procedural changes, and/or modifications to the physical environment that allow a person with a disability to equally, effectively, and in an integrated manner participate in activities, programs, and services. Â The availability of assistive, adaptive, and accessible technology is central to: Â providing education, training, and employment services that people with a wide range of disabilities need to succeed in the workplace; and promoting life-long learning opportunities to achieve education and career pathways.
