The ADA and Accessibility to Americas Job Centers

The Department of Labor has provided grants to states for the Disability Employment Initiative (DEI) since 2010 along with provision of training and technical assistance to DEI grantees by the National Disability Institute (NDI) under contract with the Employment and Training Administration (ETA). NDI conducted a number of webinars on access with Part 1 on "The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the One-Stop." It included a presentation by Jana Burke, Ph.D. - Project Director, Rocky Mountain ADA Center) and included: • Overview of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) • Discussion of the ADA and the One-Stop (now America's Job Centers (AJCs) • Information on the 2008 ADA Amendments and their effect on the One-Stop • Strategies for providing Good Customer Service in the One-Stop, and the role of the ADA
